Mr. Cogdell is part of the following Committees 2005-2007:
|
Mr. Cogdell was elected in September,
2001, to the Lexington Tennessee Board of Mayor and Alderman, representing
the fourth ward, and upon re-election in 2005 he continues his service today. The fourth ward consists mainly of the downtown
section of Lexington, including court square. Since being elected, Mr. Cogdell has had perfect attendance,
except for 1 meeting due to being out of town, at all of the Board of Alderman meetings
and all of the Utilities Board meetings. The City of Lexington (based on 2000 census) has 7393 residents. 1066 of these residents are in Ward 4. Alderman Cogdell continues to maintain high ethical standards and has kept all of his campaign promises. These promises included equal services for all city residents, a firm policy against hiring family members for city positions, pro city by-pass, pro Super Wal-Mart, promotion from within, and treating all city employees equally. He stands on his own feet and votes against any motions that he does not believe is not in the best interest of the people. Mr. Cogdell donates all of his salary as Alderman, $7,300.00, to the non-profit John Henry Cogdell Scholarship Fund, which he established in memory of his father. |
